1. One-to-One Coaching

Each working relationship is uniquely designed around the questions that you bring, your specific situation and needs, your learning style, and the level of commitment you can make. Some generic topics and interests are described below. If you feel that you have questions that do not neatly fit any category, but wonder whether I might be able to help anyway, then please do get in touch.

Presentation skills - For keynotes, conferences, academic environments, job interviews, sales presentations, pitching to funders and venture capitalists - Working on the content and delivery of an actual presentation you are planning; learn how to be confident, engaging, informative and persuasive, and to leave your audience with a favourable impression. In terms of personal impact on ourselves, giving presentations can also play a key role in career development.
Communication skills at work - For CEOs, Directors, senior executives, business leaders and managers - Understand the real reasons you are having communication challenges, establish strategies for improving your communication at work, and develop customised tools for diagnosing problems and devising solutions by yourself.
What do you do? or ... Finding the best words to describe what you offer - For organisations, organisational leaders, free lance practitioners and sole traders - Articulate what your core work or business is, let go of activities that pull your energy away from where it could be better spent, and express what you offer in a way that people understand it and value it so that better opportunities come your way.
Personal development - A voice problem can be indicative of a more systemic emotional challenge or personal issue. Holistic voicework over a sustained period can provide a medium for deep self-exploration and personal transformation.

If you are interested in communication skills in any context, please get in touch. All workshops are designed around your needs and budget - no two organisations or trainings are the same. Once we have discussed what you are looking for and defined a working brief, I can draw up a detailed proposal and quotation for you.

My long and diverse client list means that I have experience of a broad range of situations and needs - so I should be able to form a good understanding of your situation, as well as draw upon the best ideas from fields outside your own. About Alexander Massey BA MA PGCE MSc

My background in communication spans over 25 years, and a broad range of settings. I have run a number of organisations, departments and businesses, including Tacpac (communication resources for people with sensory and neurological impairment, winner of Times Educational Supplement Special Needs Award 2007).

Clients (see list) of my training and coaching include universities, corporate organisations, and therapist training institutions; business leaders, coaches, trainers, psychotherapists, and media presenters (BBC radio).

I have published books, chapters and papers on learning methods and research methodology, and journal articles on voice, communication and body-mind psychology.

As a keynote presenter and facilitator, I have worked with organisations such as the British Voice Association, Oxford Pyschotherapy Society, Association for the Teaching of Religious Education in Scotland, International Association of Voice Movement Therapists, and Guild of Pastoral Psychology.
